Camoflage is the "new" Khaki

Arkansas has more camouflage than the rest of the world I am sure. It's like the epicenter for camouflage. I saw so much I started trying to find the funniest camo items. So, the hunt began.  We found really hip clothes, shoes and handbags right nest to little dresses with lace collars and camo fabric. I found shoes in camo. Everything, including but not limited to flip flops, stilletos, flats, grunge, heels, babys shoes, little girls mary janes, tennis shoes, boots similar to Uggs, cosboy camo boots, hunting boots and last but not least baby booties. I found handbags, jewelry, lingerie, children's clothing for play and dress up and then we stopped at a baby boutique.
Oh my! We found teeny little baby clothes in teeny little camo. There was a hang up bag for baby clothes and you guessed it the fabric was camo. There were darling little gowns for newborns in pink, blue and camo. They won the prize.

When we headed back I thought we were done with camo.

Britney and I head back with three children in the back of the Blazer. The Curly Girl, Eli in the middle and The Boy on the other side.
It's about 6 hours door to door and about a third of the way back I hear this whop whop whop from the rear of the car. Yup it's a flat. The back of the car is loaded to the gills. The tire is luckily under the car. The tools are not.
Britney, bless her heart, having experience, opens the tool bin and starts by removing the lug nuts and puts them in the hub cap. Her dad taught her well.

About that time behind me a voice says "You ladies need some help? Yep, I said the my friend here that I wouldn't stop for no man but I always stop for a lady." I turn around and see two men between 60-70 years old. One in 'ralls and one in jeans and yep you guessed it they had on some camo and their shoes were looking real good in camo. I wanted to shout "I love camo!" during the tire changing we learned one had cancer 4 times and a heart attack and the other...  well he looked like he was older. The younger one had to stop because his face got real red and he was short of breath. I began looking for CPR instructions in the First Aid kit.  They changed our tire in no time flat, accepted our hugs and thank yous and prayers for good fishing then drove off down the interstate to find parts for their boat motor. Bless their fishing Lord!

So now that I'm a Camo convert here is a link to the best camo store online. They have everything camo that you can imagine. I'm off top shop!

You just never know what the day will bring.

This is a repeat post from my old blog because it's about me.
Pride of Dixie or as my family calls it - Dixie Craft Syrup established 1927 had a plant in Sheffield, Alabama and was owned by the Craft family who lived off the Tennessee River on what we called Donagon's Slew. Loren Craft was my Aunt Nita's best friend and the two of them together were quite a hoot. There was much laughter involved! They called each other every morning and every afternoon. there was no internet then and they had to discuss the latest radio contest clues in the morning and then in the afternoon they rehashed their soap operas or stories. I remember eating eggs and biscuits with Dixie Craft Syrup for breakfast at Aunt Nita's formica table and listening to the one way discussion of the latest clue to the money prize hidden somewhere in the area.  In the summer we would go out to "Aunt" Loren's lake house and swim or fish. I was in 3rd grade and had a crush on her son Alfred Craft. LOL
Dixie Craft Syrup has a plant in Jonesboro Arkansas and my daughters Tracy and Britney stopped for gas in Jonesboro. They asked the attendant if there was a store open that sold Craft syrup and told them the story.  It so happened the plant manager (or somebody with a key) was standing there paying for gas and he offered to open the plant. The girls were ecstatic! They bought syrup and headed on down the road! How odd for that to happen! I'm telling you I think God has a sense of humor. Every time I am near a store that sells Dixie Craft Syrup I buy a case or if my car is loaded to the gills I buy what I can squeeze in. When I lived in Atlanta I called and had a case delivered to my house! Dixie Craft has been part of my family for as long as I can remember. They make the best thick maple syrup for biscuits you have ever tasted. HINT: I fyou don't make homemade biscuits you can buy frozen homemade biscuits at Kroger or WalMart! Mary B Biscuits could fool your daddy! Your next problem wouldbe waiting for your case of syrup from the Dixie Craft Plant! I have a few extra right now so I might hook you up with some!

And Kai Makes Four!

I've been busy blog land! Real busy. First we got the call that Kai was on his way anytime so we packed up and headed out. He arrived long before we did of course. Kai weighed 8 lb. and 8 oz. and has lots of dark hair. I'd say he was a little over done. He was comfy in there and he thought he would just stay a little longer so he did. When he decided to come out he did not waste any time. Viola! He arrived with a full head of hair.
We visited the mountain home of my daughter and it was precious besides the scenery being absolutely beautiful. I never did see a coyote though they are rumored to be around.
I stocked up on my favorite syrup "Dixie Craft" syrup that I have eaten on biscuits made by my grandmother, mother and aunts all my life. It's part of my story so every time I find a store that stocks it I try to buy as much as I can fit in my car. This time only 12 bottles would fit. You would have to see my car. It was packed. I digress . . .
So, once we see the newly born Kai and ooo and ahhh over him we head out to pick up some baby things and fall into.... camouflage world.  See Camo Post!
